Need for the Program:
During the 2004-05 school-year USD 501 reported:

  • 1,640 students absent on an average day
  • 27,526 students enrolled
  • 25,886 average daily attendance
  • 701 students truant
  • 2,154 students suspended
  • 41 students expelled
  • 304 students dropped out

Program Goal: Promote school attendance and reduce truancy in Shawnee County.

Services Provided:

  • Supporting School Attendance
  • Truancy Dispatch Program
  • School-Based Community Care/Truancy Prevention:
    • Case management
    • Linkage to services
    • Support services
